An even more important inspection

It may have passed muster with building control but this morning there was a far more important inspection... by our neighbour Tom who, it turns out, has worked with Steve on projects in the past.

I was off site most of the day meeting with friends, venting and visiting bluebell woods at Stubhampton. In my absence there was a building control inspection of the foundations. The inspector measured the distance to the oak tree in Eight Acre Coppice opposite to ensure that the foundations were deep enough. When he was satisfied two loads of concrete, transported from the road-side in the dumper truck, were poured into the foundations.

Tomorrow the remaining foundations will be excavated and partially filled ready for the block work next week.

This afternoon we received written confirmation that the council will be issuing a demand for payment of the CIL levy plus surcharge.
