The Waiting Game

This morning Steve marked out the position of the block walls for the foundations and then waited for delivery of the blocks and cement. The delivery was due mid-morning but it was around 1.30 pm when the two lorries finally arrived . Our neighbour Bryan had kindly agreed that we could use his drive to unload the blocks directly into our back garden. We plied the delivery men with tea whilst Steve sweet talked them into doing just that.

The Bradfords' guys unloaded the blocks onto the first 'island' from where Steve distributed them evenly around the excavations. Great planning!

The piles of blocks were topped off with pieces of tarp to stop them getting too wet if it rains because wet blocks expand and shrink as they dry. Unfortunately showers and thundery downpours are forecast over the next few days. The brickies will be on site Wednesday or Thursday next week.
