Misty Morning, Flooded Footings

We had some torrential downpours yesterday and overnight and the foundation trenches were flooded this morning.

After pumping out the water the brickies set to work. There was a Met Office Yellow warning of rain in place all day but fortunately it passed us by and by afternoon tea the block work for the foundations was done.

Meanwhile at the end of the garden Steve went looking for the water main.

Steve found the water main, right where Tom said it was, and is going to dig a trench for the new connection on Friday morning. I have to say I was underwhelmed by the pipe - I was expecting something more substantial.
