A Breakthrough

Today the pipe to the foul water drain went in. It's the brown pipe in the picture and it connects via our existing manhole. The black cable is the electricity supply to the summerhouse, piggybacking in the same trench. The conduit for the water supply was also installed (blue corrugated pipe).
We intend to use rain gardens to handle the surface water drainage on the site but 2 cubic metres of polycrates were put in this afternoon to supplement this and to help with drainage whilst we are constructing. Having dug through a couple of feet of clay Steve broke through into sand and gravel. This is a very good thing and he was very happy... maybe he needs to get out more!
The building inspector came to check on the sewage pipe and the polycrates and gave both the thumbs up.
