The good, the bad and the ugly.

The Good
We had a number of concerns about the build being achievable because of lack of detail on the architects drawings. The biggest of these were how the Cruck Frame design of Brian Waite was going to be joined with the timber frame gable end walls; how the gable end windows would attach to the cruck frame and, since the cruck frames are spaced 1m apart and our build is 12m long, how we are going to finish the external face of the end crucks. Yesterday we went up to the outskirts of Reading to meet with Tim Karpinski of Vision who are to supply the timber elements of the build. Having talked things through with Tim and him promising to work out solutions to these problems we feel happier and much more confident that the build is achievable. Vision will be ready to start working on the crucks by the end of the week.
The Bad
We contacted Less2Build today as we still had not received details for the block delivery promised for this week. THEY HAVEN'T GOT ANY BLOCKS and can't fulfil our order. They don't know when they will get more. When I reminded them that they confirmed in writing last week that they had stock they said they did have stock then and another delivery due which has been put back. Erm... where did the stock go then? What they do have though is our dosh - all £2,338.80 of it. I'm trying to get them to cancel and refund.
