D-Day

Yesterday was Delivery Day. At 8am a 40ft artic arrived with the rib beams, bale retainers and timber frame gable end walls.

Our friends Lew and Richard came over to help us unload the artic. Everything was stacked in the front garden as it came of the lorry. This was supposed to be a temporary measure. The intention was to move everything around the back and place it conveniently around the site. We were expecting one of the pieces of the timber frame to be heavy but we were surprised as to how heavy the rib beams were. The boys struggled to unload them from the artic.

Later, after the lorry had left, we did relocate the bale retainers and the timber frame sections. But the ribs had to stay put as everyone was shattered. Unfortunately they are blocking our rear access and car parking space. We are going to have to rethink how we are going to move these beams around the site and raise them into position.

The I-beams arrive next Tuesday.
