Deja vu

To maneuver the beams into position it was necessary to remove the battening on one side of tarp. And so, once the battening had been screwed back I had to reapply sealant to the top of the battens to prevent rain accumulating on the batten, running down between the batten and the tarp and tracking along the screws to the inside of the tarp.

I won't be buying Builders' Silicone again. At the risk of sounding a bad workwoman it was a nightmare to use and I didn't make such a good/neat job as I did previously. Last time I used some sealant that I had added on as an afterthought to an online order in order to qualify for free postage. Time will tell how well this sealant stands up to the task and whether or not I will have to reapply AGAIN.

It wasn't possible to re-batten exactly over the same part of the tarp as before and there is some slight damage to the tarp but it will probably be ok as long as don't get driving rain from north.
