Galvanized

The plan was to use an anti-corrosive, sealing and waterproofing tape on the bolts connecting the beams to the crucks. Having tried it I can honestly say that if life's too short to peel a grape then it's a damn site too short to wrap the bolts with that tape. So we've moved to Plan B - cold galvanizing with 3M Scotch 1617 Zinc Spray.

"Scotch® 1617 Zinc spray is an ideal cold galvanizer, that provides permanent protection against rust and corrosion by electrochemically bonding with the metal surface it is sprayed onto. Scotch® 1617 has excellent adhesion to iron and steel, is resistant to weathering, UV radiation, moisture, heat up to 500°C, alkaline solutions and mineral oils."
