Blue air

The air has turned blue... and not just because of the drop in the temperature. Mark and Lew have been inserting straw bales between and around the purlin and beam ends - a task which is sorely trying their patience.

In a few places it is impossible to plug the gaps from the inside. These will have to be plugged from the outside when the tarps come off next summer.

The gap between the two purlins supporting the double glulam beam will need to be filled with solid insulation as it is impossible to fill with loose straw. Fortunately we still have some left over from when we cut the wedges which sit under the first row of bales.
