Chain male

The universe smiled on us yesterday for the delivery of the rest of the straw bales. Earlier in the week the weather forecast had suggested that we would be unloading in the rain. As it was we enjoyed some sunshine and the rain held off until last night. Since then we've had a lot of rain and most of today has been pretty miserable.

The haulage company had covered the bales for the journey just to be on the safe side. Once again we off-loaded over the fence from our neighbour's drive. As we have started to infill between the rib beams we couldn't pass bales between the beams into the house. Instead we built a platform from the fence to the 'door' with a ramp into the house.
Our friends Richard and Mark B joined us to help shift the bales. The guys made a huMAN chain to pass the bales from the lorry into the house.

The driver tossed a bale over the fence to Richard.

Richard passed the bale along the platform to Mark B.

Mark B pushed the bale down the ramp to Mark and Lew.
Mark and Lew stacked the bales up in the house.
