So near...

We thought that we would finish inserting the straw bales this week. The dumbwaiter has been removed and the work platform moved to the far end of the house in readiness. We've sufficient bales. We do need some more bale retainers but we have plenty of 4 x 1" timber lying around to make those. A couple more days would've done it. But it is not to be. The nail gun has packed up.

Mark has checked and there is no nail jammed and the springs look fine. There's no sound of life either. We've had the gun over a year but it hasn't been heavily used. On Monday afternoon we took it over to an approved repair shop in Christchurch which is an hour's drive away. We don't know when we'll get it back. The one year guarantee is up but some parts are covered for 3 years. Fingers crossed that any parts required will be covered by the longer guarantee.
