Strapped in

The first floor windows will sit on the block outer leaf and attach to the verge sprockets. Mr Kitcatt, the building inspector, recommended that we strap each gable end cruck frame to the two frames next to it at 2m intervals to help resist the pull of the windows. Not doing things by half we have used four 3600mm heavy duty stainless steel restraint straps on either side of the ridge at each gable end. Each strap connects the end four cruck frames and hooks around the last frame.
