An early eBay purchase was this section of the gallery removed from Salem Baptist Church, Ramsey.
Our building fund is rapidly diminishing as the build to date has, despite our best efforts to contain costs, cost much more than anticipated. We have no ships at sea. Going over budget is not an option so we are looking for ideas to fit out the interior and complete the build as cheaply as possible.
The interior will be more open plan than originally intended (only one bedroom) and we have become keen eBayers, buying items that we can recycle/upcycle/refurbish. Thank heavens for the 'Shabby Chic' look although the fashion has increased the price of second hand stuff. Some purchases have been more successful than others but on the whole we will be using most of what we have bought. Memo to self: It doesn't matter how 'on trend' the Scandi look is Stuart, our electrician, will NOT put up wooden light fittings so don't buy them again.

The interior of the storage container. At the front is an oak vanity unit. Behind it you can see Junckers Beech Flooring and some freestanding oak kitchen units. All eBay purchases.
Whilst we could use the situation to boost our green credentials that seems fraudulent to me when it is Hobson's Choice.
Storing what we have bought is our biggest headache. The storage container is chocca. We had hoped to have been able to store some structural items in the house by now but the plasterers STILL have not finished the internal lime plastering (We need ANOTHER 16 bags of Fibrechalk in addition to the original 21 and extra 14). They are now scheduled to return on 11th September.
