Scrubbed up well

The cleaning and treating of the pews (with Woca wood cleaner and Wykabor 20 Gel respectively) is finally finished. Hurrah! The highly carved pew front took several days to clean. Before we can use them the pieces will need another going over to remove the Wykabor residue. Then they will be finished with a wax polish.

Richard helped us bring in one of the pews when he visited a few weeks ago and Brendon and Mark B helped us to bring in another and get it upstairs when they visited. The pew front and remaining two pews are outside under tarps. This is far from ideal but at least they are raised of the ground. We just don't have room to store them anywhere under cover at present. We have several jobs on the go at them moment and are getting snowed under with building materials and the fixtures which have begun to arrive. Hopefully over the next couple of months most of these will be shifted and then we will be looking for some more unsuspecting visitors to help us bring the pew front and remaining pews in before winter arrives.

We are only going to have one bedroom which will be on the first floor. In the original plans there was a second bedroom. This was to be an internal room on the ground floor. Because it would have no window to the exterior it would require two exits and a mechanical means of air exchange to meet the building regs. We don't need a second bedroom. For most of the time the room would simply be used as an office (and dumping ground) so we have decided to simplify the build and save money by doing away with a separate room. The pew front will be used as a room divider between the dining area and this space which will have a sofa bed for use by anyone sleeping over.
