Fits and starts

Over the past few months we have begun a number of tasks - but completed only a few.
We concentrated on outside tasks during the mild and relatively dry autumn. This mostly consisted of hard landscaping along the southern side of the house where the ground has been built up, leveled, gate posts put up and the sub-base for a path put down.

The last outside job before the weather turned was laying the bullnose kerb stones for both the step down onto the patio and the patio itself. Laying the pavers themselves will have to wait until the weather improves.

Inside the edges of the gable end windows have been sealed and finished off with lime plaster and window sills fixed in place. along the bottom edge.

Insulated plasterboard has been fixed to the timber frames below the windows. This gives a calculated U-value for these walls of 0.15W/m²K which is similar to that of the strawbale walls.

The plasterboard was then skimmed over with plaster.

First fit plumbing and electrics are now underway.
