The Revenue Man

Yesterday we had a visit from a Revenues Inspection Officer from the council. PDC wants to know what is going on with the build and whether both buildings are being occupied (our planning permission requires us to pull down the grungelow before occupying the strawbale). Not sure if they are more interested in us being in contravention of the planning rules or avoiding council tax on a property!

The Inspector could see for himself that the strawbale is a long way from habitable (yet to start first fit) and as to anyone CHOOSING to live in the grungelow, well...

Apparently we can now expect regular visits until we're done.

When the strawbale is finished the council tax band will be reassessed but we were expecting that anyhow.

Memo to self: inform council that we only have possessory title which will affect the value of the property.
